Standing Up to the Elements - Americana™ Fits The Bill

Ron Ummel, proprietor of Concrete Evolutions in Indianapolis, IN, was looking to establish a very unique and authentic look to the outside of his house he planned on building. He’d been searching for a siding product, and for him it was critical to replicate the appearance of natural wood. “I’d been searching on Houzz for a natural-looking product for the home’s siding and Ipe kept appearing in my search results,” said Ummel. “I knew imported Ipe simply wasn’t the right solution, and I found a few articles referencing thermally-modified wood. It’s at that point I found the Americana™ Real Wood product by Bingaman & Son Lumber.”

Ummel was particularly drawn to the natural aspect of the Americana siding, and the fact that it is real Pennsylvania hardwood that has been modified using only the natural elements of heat, steam, and time. He continued, “Obviously, I needed to source a siding product that could stand up to the elements and Americana fit that bill. I also like that there is basically no maintenance involved, and I just love the nice, modern look.”

Ron worked with the Americana team at Bingaman & Son Lumber to specify tongue & groove cut into all sides of each siding board, a custom feature that made for easy installation by his construction crew. “I’ve been extremely impressed with this product, and I would 100% recommend Americana,” Ummel added.
