Preserving a special place

A lakeside legacy,
thoughtfully renewed.

On the shores of Colorado’s Grand Lake, a historic yacht club begins its next chapter—with its character intact.

MA Studios led a renovation of Grand Lake Yacht Club that balanced the needs of today’s members with the building’s historic identity. Built by Chillcoots Construction, the project included structural improvements, renewed exterior spaces, and updates to the clubhouse interior.

Americana™ Thermally Modified Hardwood, from Bingaman & Son Lumber, is part of that story. The finished project brings real wood into a setting defined by the lake, the mountains, and generations of gathering.

In the BYDesign Material Spotlight below, architect J. Scott Munn of MA Studios shares his perspective on the material and the project.
